Joey + Dallas

This post is a little late (okay, a lot late) but since I'm just now getting a break from all the holiday portraits, I couldn't help but share this wedding.

Joey and Dallas. Let's start with the bride. Why? Because she and her bridesmaids were gorgeous and because I can't get enough of them. Every detail was planned out, from custom hangers to the silky robes they spent the morning in. I loved spending my morning with these ladies. They were hilarious, and Dallas was so easy to photograph.

Now, this may be close to overshare, but I can't help myself because this day was so glorious. Dallas was stunning.

Samantha & Gabe

First Landing State Park, 2500 Shore Dr, Virginia Beach, VA 23451, USA
Meet Samantha and Gabe.

Let me preface by saying I love these two. I met Samantha at the wedding of another client. I tell you out of honesty that it is truly humbling to be chosen to photograph weddings and engagement sessions. The task of photographing a wedding and an engagement is a very big one and one I do not take lightly. It is an honor to be the person responsible for photographing such a major event in a couple's life.

Usually the engagement session is where clients get to see how I work, but Samantha and Gabe were able to observe me while in the bridal party of their friends who married back in September. I loved that wedding (will be sharing the photos I loved from that wedding in a future post!) and I fell in love with Samantha and Gabe when I first met them. They have a very relaxed, yet organized feel to them.  So when Samantha contacted me to say they wanted to hire me, I was elated.

Samantha and Gabe discussed their vision for an engagement session with excitement when we met  at Starbucks (meeting over coffee is literally my favorite kind of meeting ever). They wanted a secluded beach location, at sunset, and for the look to be light and airy. Samantha even had photos of a specific session she loved, which is perfect because I'm totally a visual person (I'll tell you now I love when clients give me a visual of what they're wanting). At their session I was laughing the entire time. Gabe was hilarious and Samantha was stunning. Working with couples like this remind me of why I love working with engaged couples. There's a beauty in couples who are engaged and about to be married. They have a relentless love.

Samantha and Gabe, I cannot wait to photograph your wedding day in all its gloriousness!

Leave a comment below to tell me which are your favorite. =)

Lindsay and Evan | A Maternity Session

Suffolk, VA, USA
Lindsay & Evan.

This growing family right here was stunning. We met in the early morning hours when the sun was barely in the sky and felt like this glorious field of trees was perfect for this beautiful maternity session. Lindsay and Evan were only a few weeks away from meeting their first born son in these photos. Since these were taken, Zeke has made his appearance and when I say he's the sweetest little guy you'll ever meet (and I say that with extreme prejudice because I have two little boys myself), it's the truth. He cuddles and sleeps most the time. I couldn't be happier to have photographed this growing family and watched as they welcomed baby Zeke into the family. Congrats Lindsay and Evan...and big sister Leo. Everybody loves you so much already.
